INotes from Montpelier
by Rep. Bill Frank

Tuesday evening after the big storm about 40 of you met with me at the Deborah Rawson Memorial Library for an evening of discussion. Topics ranged from prison overcrowding and outdoor wood boilers to the cost of school education and school financing. It was an opportunity to not only ask for my opinion but for many of you to express your concerns and opinions. A number of you shared with me information for which you have expertise on bills that I do not address in my committee. I thank you for this opportunity to learn from you. There was a sigh when it was announced it was time for the library to close because all topics were not covered. I will be at The Village Cup the morning of April 16 for another discussion from 7:00-9:00 AM. Let me know if you would like an evening meeting before the legislative session ends at the Deborah Rawson Library.
Next Tuesday is Town Meeting and I am very proud that the three towns I represent have very active town meetings. Gaye and I will be at the pre-town meeting potluck in Bolton on Monday evening. It is always a time for good food and great conversations. Tuesday morning before the Jericho town meeting join us for conversation in the school gym. Finally we will go to the Underhill town meeting to make a presentation and answer questions.
The week of town meeting is about the halfway point of the legislative session. Some years ago it was decided for the legislature to take the remainder of the week off after town meeting. This gives legislators who have businesses and jobs an opportunity to catch up on their work. As a retiree, I am using the week to catch up on my skiing with three good friends. During this time I will continue to check my email.
Continue to contact me at Rep.BillFrank@verizon.net, but I have to admit my inbox has a lot of unanswered notes; I will answer all of them.
